Story
It's time I go back to mountain biking and what better way to do it than fundraising for World Bicycle Relief which is a cause very close to my heart:-) Why you may ask - not only do I believe wholeheartedly in WBR but of course, I'm also the Development Director for WBR.
However, jokes aside - as many who've met me will attest to - I couldn't get any more enthusiastic and passionate about the cause if I tried. Experiencing our programs in the field in Zambia was the most physically and emotionally challenging, not to mention humbling trip I ever undertook.
Talking to students, healthcare workers and farmers really brought it home how many challenges these people face without any mode of transport apart from walking.
I haven't been mountain biking for a while and certainly not the distance of this trip, so please, think of me while I'm most likely fight with lactic acid developing in my thighs, cramping in my hands from holding onto the handlebars and help me with my fundraising goal while I'm starting to train for the trip so I won't risk keeling over while riding on for WBR.

In return, I can promise you you'll get the warm and fuzzy feeling that you're helping people out of the cycle of poverty and disease. And if you live in Sydney, I'll take you out for a drink or have you over for dinner.
